James McGovern
Thesis
The authors text structure defines the characterization of Walter Mitty by showing he is a shy, timid, and imaginative man.
The first thing we know about Walter is he is a timid man.
When he is talking to his wife he is bossed around.
She scolds him to get his overshoes.
The second thing we know about about Walter is he is a shy man.
When he goes to the valet they always mess with him.
When he tries to valet his car they tell him to take the chains off.
The final thing we know about Walter is he is imaginative.
He is imaginative because one of his daydreams are about flying an eight engine hydro plane which doesn't even exist.
What he was really driving was his car.
