See Something - Say or Text Something
A group of us found their spots on Tuesday and students were apprehended yesterday. We want students to start to talk to one another and let each other know that we are not tolerating this and this is not the ARSA Way!
Thank you to Mr. Bables, Mr. Smyth, Mrs. Hawkins, Mrs. Crabtree, Ms. A. Lewis, and Mrs. Quintana for rolling up your sleeves and helping to put an end to this unacceptable and unsafe behavior.

ARSA Instructional Highlights
Math 8th Grade Team Members
Ms. Remikie is setting the tone for the 8th grade team with her leadership. With gaps in the C POD, she has stepped up to ensure the instruction and learning in the math classes continues. She ensures there are copies each day for the students. Her classroom is also a model for the subs we have for C POD to support their work in following the sub plans. Hats off Ms. Remikie for your leadership & overall grit for the team!
Ms.Kimani is new to the math team and has shown a great amount of flexibility. She expected to be working with small groups and providing intervention but adjustments in filling vacancies made it necessary for her to act as the teacher of record for C POD. She does everything with a smile and we appreciate her going above and beyond the call to support our students success.

Spotlight on Elective Team- Lead. Achieve
The elective team has shone so bright this week! From hearing German spoken in the hallways to students proudly pointing out their artwork on the way to lunch, the students are so excited about our elective classes and all the wonderful skills they are learning from their elective teachers.
Seeing a completely packed auditorium at the band performance this week is a testament to the community and growth that Ms. Standlee has fostered over the last few years--- and that's without even mentioning how absolutely incredible the student performances were. On Wednesday, I spent just under 15 minutes in Ms. Miller's dance studio and walked away so impressed by the student passion, work ethic, and leadership among her dancers.
I know all of our elective teachers work so hard to reach the needs of all of our students and they all have equally amazing results that I can't wait to see throughout the year. Thank you for inspiring our students. Thank you for manning the lunchroom and surviving on one planning period. Thank you for making the arts a living, breathing part of STEAM at ARSA!
Spotlight on Mr. Bables
I can NOT say enough about Mr. Bables! His job title is monitor but he demonstrates all the characteristics of a mentor, planner, security, support, cheerleader, assistant, facilitator, and the list goes on. He seems to be everywhere at all times. He genuinely wants what is best for the students at ARSA and it shows. Hats off to Mr. Bables for grit!
Spotlight on Mrs. J. Miller - Lead. Achieve
Ms. Hunt writes:
I want to applaud Mrs. Miller for the awesome work she is doing with the student's at ARSA! The flash mob was awesome today! The student's were so energized and proud of their performance.
Spotlight on Mrs. Hawkins - Lead
She is so relentless and persistent. She has met with me, given sound advice, pushed me beyond my limits and has praised and supported me every step of the way! Mrs. Hawkins cares about teachers, period. She is an advocate for greatness, excellence, relationship and collaboration. She works hard everyday and I really just everyone to know about it! Kudos to you and keep truckin toward excellence!!!
Spotlight on Social Studies Team - Lead
I would like to spotlight the social studies teachers Ms. Barksdale, Ms. Craig, Ms. Macon, Mr. Stegall, Mr. Parhms, Mr. Alexander, Mr. Getz, Mr. Stephens, and Mr. Gardner. They took time out of their schedule to bring their students to the book fair last week. I truly appreciate that and I know the students did too.
