Romeo and Juliet Act 2
The party ends, and Romeo ditches his friends to go with Juliet. Mercutio and Benvolio try to find Roneo. They make fun of Romeo for his love sickness for Rosaline. Because they think he’s bedding Rosaline, they decide to leave him alone. There is a lot of dirty jokes going on.
In the bushes, Romeo lurks, creeping on Juliet. Juliet is confessing her love for Romeo. Romeo reveals himself and they exchange compliments and vows of love. Romeo compare Juliet to the sun and stars. This scene is very romantic.
Friar Lawrence was up in the morning when Romeo wakes up. Romeo comes out of his room and his dad asks him why is he up so early. Then his dad says that he must have been up thinking about a girl, and he asks if he was thinking about Rosaline. Romeo tells his dad he likes Juliet and wants to marry her. His dad says ok because he thinks it might end war between the Montagues and Capulets.
In this scene Benvolio and Mercutio were making fun of the nurse. They were calling her fat. Romeo finally started sticking up for the nurse because he felt bad about them making fun of her. At the end of the scene Romeo asks the nurse to give a message to Juliet from him. The nurse said she would do it because Romeo is nice to her.
At the beginning of this scene Juliet is wondering where the nurse is, because she left for Romeo’s a while ago. The nurse finally gets back and juliet asks her what Romeo said, then the nurse says “I’m tired, Leave me alone for a minute”. The nurse keeps trying to change the subject every time Juliet asks her what Romeo said.
In this scene Romeo talks to his father about Juliet. His father tells him that love makes you burn up in victory like fire and gunpowder. Juliet shows up and talks to Romeo about marriage. She tells him her true love has made her so rich she can’t even count her wealth. They talk about getting married with Friar Lawrence.
