When you overthrow a government you typically don't like the way things are going and want to make them better. Although, it make create chaos and/or wars to get to where you want to be. Also in some cases the costs outweigh the benefits.
American Revolution
With the 13 British colonies upset over the absence of representation in Parliament and taxes, they decided to revolt. During this revolution there were protests against the taxes on tea, with this they threw tea into the Boston Harbor. On July 4th, 1776 it all stopped. The American Colonists declared independence. This started a war between the British and America.
French Revolution
The French Revolution has several different causes, including political, social, and economical. Most people were denied to have their own rights. They had no say in their government and they did not like that. France had three states for social status. The last estate had consisted of 98% of the population. These people had no rights, almost no land, and lots of taxes. Not only this France had an awful financial crisis. They had a shortage of food and with all of the other stuff the 3rd estate suffered this the most.
