East Troy High School Newsletter

February 2019

Principals Notes

Hello,

With the recent weather days, as well as previous closures, we fall short of the minimum amount of minutes required by state law for the 18-19 school year. After evaluating several options, District leadership has determined to pursue the following make-up plan for the high school:

  • Wednesday, June 5 will become a full day of school rather than a half day.
  • Thursday, June 6 will be an additional day of school.
  • The beginning and end of the school day will be extended by 5 minutes, beginning Monday, February 11 for the remainder of the school year.
  • All remaining team date mornings are canceled for the remainder of the school year; students should report at 7:40 am.

ACT Prep:

On Saturday Feb. 2nd, over 50 Juniors students voluntary reported to ETHS school participate in a practice ACT test. The students took the 4-hour practice exam to experience the texting environment and content of the test. We appreciate students taking ownership of their learning. If you or your child, that is a Junior, was unable to partake in the practice ACT test, the test can be accessed through Method Test Prep which all high school students have access to. Feel free to contact us for additional information.

Trojan Athletics

The winter athletic season is off to a great start. Good luck to all the athletes as they continue to perform at a high level!

Boys Basketball

The boys basketball team is continuing to roar through the conference. They just had their closest game of the season as they held off Edgerton and won 70-68 on a last second shot by AJ Vukovich. The Trojans are now 12-1 overall and a perfect 10-0 in conference. They host Whitewater this Tuesday and look to continue with their winning ways. Good luck gentlemen!

Girls Basketball

The girls basketball team is coming off their 4th straight win over Whitewater. With that win, they have gained full control of 2nd place in the conference. They travel to Milwaukee Lutheran on Tuesday before heading to Evansville Thursday. They look to avenge their loss to Evansville and keep their conference winning streak alive! Good luck ladies!

Wrestling

Championship season has started for the wrestling team. The boys finished 3rd in the conference tournament this past weekend and six of our wrestlers finished in the top three. Tommy Larson, Jake Dessart, and Jake Price highlighted the weekend as they brought home conference championships. The next step is Regionals which will be held at Home on Saturday.
