It's time for our Holiday Assistance program at PKVES! Our goal for this program is to show our love and care by providing gifts for families that are struggling to make ends meet or are going through a rough financial time. We are asking for you to adopt a family (student/s) if you are able and willing to help make their family holiday more merry and bright. Just click on the link to sign up. https://www.signupgenius.com/go/409084CABA92BA6FA7-christmas

Welcome!
Dear Parents and Students,
Welcome to 2nd Grade! I can't wait to start the new school year. I have SOOOO many fun activites and lessons to share with your family. My goal it to make learning fun, memorable, and enjoyable.
Weekly Schedule
On days we have P.E. we would ask that your child wear comfortable sneaker-type shoes for running and playing. You may also pack an extra pair in your child's book back in case they forget. We will try to get outside on most days for recess unless the temperature goes above 90 degrees or below 40 degrees.
Here is our weekly schedule:
Monday: P.E.
Tuesday: Library
Wednesday: Guidance
Thursday: P.E.
Friday: Music
Communication
Your child has a homework folder to carry papers and notes between home and school. Please check this folder every night. I will be posting weekly newsletters on www.smore.com. Please make sure you read the newsletters as there will be important class information and important dates. Written notes are a good way to communicate with me. You can call me at school most afternoons after 3:00 or call and leave a message for me to contact you (school phone # 289-7510). You may also contact me through school email: mwampole@rockingham.k12.va.us
In fact, if you could email me a short message with you and your child's name, it would be a great way for me to make sure I have the proper email address for when I send newsletters and electronic notifications.
Weekly pictures and updates will also come through Seesaw from me and, starting in December, your child will send you updates from their classroom iPads. Lessons and Word Study will change at this time too. I will send an update when this happens.
Lunch
Lunch is at 11:40 every day. Feel free to come and eat with us. Be sure to arrive a little early so you can sign in at the office and pick up a visitor badge.
Again, I’m delighted to have your child in the class and look forward to a great year in Second Grade!
