Conscious Discipline Basics for Parents
Conscious Discipline Training for Parents is coming to Jefferson City!

Karen Hickman has a Masters degree in Early Childhood Education and a Bachelors degree in Elementary Education, both from the University of Missouri-Columbia. She has been in the field of education for over 20 years, including teaching grades 4-6 in public school, operating an in-home preschool program for ten years and teaching as an adjunct professor for the University of Missouri-Columbia. Karen also has background experience as a Certified High/Scope Trainer and a Certified High/Scope Teacher. In 2003, the Central Missouri Association for the Education of Young Children honored Karen with the Outstanding Early Childhood Professional Award.
Karen began her journey with Conscious Discipline when she became a mother; seeking to improve her relationships and parenting skills with her own two children. Her journey with Conscious Discipline has touched every aspect of her life, both personal and professional. Karen is passionate about sharing with others the skills that have transformed her interactions with those she loves. She enjoys serving with the parents and youth within her church community and values the relationship-based approach that Conscious Discipline is grounded in. Karen specializes in interactive and informative workshops for parents, preschool programs, elementary schools, and faith-based communities. She is an exceptional presenter, receiving acclaim for her knowledge, audience attunement, engaging style and wit.
