I hope everyone had a safe and Happy New Year! Back here at LMS, we have been dealing with the impact of COVID and Omicron variant. We think we are seeing it starting to slow. The Board of Education updated our return plan last night and that will have impact on our quarantine times. Under the new plan, students testing positive will need to quarantine for ten days. However, close contacts who are symptom free will only need to quarantine for five days.

Another impact is sports and activities. Because we are in what is considered the "very high" or "red" zone, we have paused clubs, activities and sports. We hope to be able to resume these in the near future.

Every Year we have two county wide recognitions for our 8th grade students. The first is the Burlington County Principals and Supervisors Association 8th Grade Award. Each middle school in the county is asked to nominate a student who best represents the character of the school along with high academic standards, leadership qualities, and service to the school and community. The LMS nominee for the 21-22 school year is Ava M. Congratulations Ava!

The second award is the Burlington County 8th Grade Dialogue. This is held each spring and invites one student from each middle school to participate in a panel discussion. The students are asked questions about their experiences, thoughts and ideas on their educations, their dreams for the future and how they would improve the world and their communities. The LMS nominee is Lily D. Way to go Lily!
