Warner Update
Thanksgiving Week
Knowledge is Power
Thirty minutes later I decided to check my email. I saw that it was a response from a recent observation. I clicked on it and I will admit I reflected on my visit to the classroom.
My wonderings focused on scaffolding and differentiation. The teacher really impressed me with the detail in the responses. She was very specific in explaining how each activity tied to the lesson and how it was scaffolded for the different learning levels. She went on to explain how she had set the week up and what lessons were whole group, small group and additional intervention time.
I sat back in my chair and marveled at the detail and intentionality of the teacher.
Full disclosure, when I visit classrooms I completely understand that I only see a snapshot of what the learning looks like. This is where you (as the teacher) come in. I truly appreciate seeing the bigger picture of learning and how teachers intentionally plan for the variety of learners in the classroom.
By 9pm on Sunday I had not finished everything I aimed to do on the weekend, but one thing is certain...I had a much clearer picture of instruction and learning at Warner Elementary.
I hope you will view my noticings and wonderings as OPPORTUNITIES.
