Good, Better, Best; Never Let it Rest Until Our Good is Better and our Better is BEST!
Principal's Update
Dear Paularino Families,
When dropping off and picking up your students all adults and children over the age of 2 must wear a face mask. This is for your safety and the safety of others. It is also the law. Please remember to keep a social distance from others outside your household as well.
Many parents have been walking through the parking lot to drop off or pick up their students which is very dangerous for pedestrians and drivers. Please use the sidewalk for the safety of all students, staff, and parents.
When in the car line please remain in your car. This will help the car line to move faster with children getting in and out on their own. A staff member will be there to assist if needed.
If walking or parking to pick up your child please wait by the sidewalk of the MPR or the sidewalk by the exit driveway. With added adults on the sidewalk of the car line it is difficult to maintain a social distance and keep all children safe near moving vehicles.
Thank you for your cooperation to keep all students, staff, and families safe.
Sincerely,
Mrs. Schwartz
Dress Code
As the weather gets warmer please remember students need to adhere to dress code with school appropriate clothing and shoes. Students are playing during recess and lunch and we need them to stay safe with closed toed shoes.

COVID-19 Dashboard
In an effort to continue to provide accurate and up-to-date information related to COVID-19 in our schools, a District dashboard was created that identifies the number of confirmed COVID-19 cases by school. The number listed includes current positive cases of staff and/or students within the past 14-day period. This information is updated daily and is located on the District webpage (www.nmusd.us/CovidDashboard)
There is no need to be alarmed or wonder if your child has been exposed when you see a positive case at your child’s school site. The District follows protocols, which includes collaboration with the Orange County Health Care Agency (OCHCA), who assist with contact tracing and help identify students or staff who need to quarantine. In the event of a positive case in our schools, as appropriate and under the direction of the OCHCA, the school nurse, principal, or District staff will notify any staff or students who are considered to be a close contact (less than 6 feet apart for more than 15 minutes) with a COVID-19 positive person. Each case is unique and in some cases, while uncommon, notification to low risk contacts MAY be necessary, based on the direction from the OCHCA. If you do not receive notification regarding a COVID-19 case, we do not believe your child has been exposed. Due to privacy laws, we cannot provide names or any other information about the people who test positive or those who have been in close contact.
Please see page 18-21 of the NMUSD School Reopening Plan for additional information.
