How to stay safe while using the internet
Password
You want to make sure you and your passwords are safe, so in this case here are a couple pieces of advice to keep passwords/info safe.
- Never respond to requests for personal or account information online.
- Don’t give out your social security number.
- Watch out for convincing email imitations from banks, card companies, charities and government agencies
Scams
Scam artists in the U.S. and around the world defraud millions of people each year. They use the phone, email, postal mail, and the internet to trick you into sending money or giving out personal information. So in this case, protect your information. Don't let these nasty people take your privacy, protect it and watch what you do. If you get an email that says some thing like" hello dearest customer you have the chance to win 1 million dollars. Put in your address and credit card to enter for the grand prize..." You see, something like this would be too good to be true. You would be the one to get 1 million dollars, they would because they now have your information.
Privacy
Keep your information to yourself. People around the world today don't think twice before they do something. They just go on and put there info out there. Some people even do it with out noticing. Take this for instance, you post your address/phone number on your facebook. You have already lost probably everything. With today's technology people can hack anything with just the littlest pieces of information. That's why you have to watch what you post. Protect everything and make sure you think twice before posting something that may jeopardize your privacy in any way.
