Spanish Teacher - McKinley Elementary & Petaluma Accelerated Charter School

The PACS team would love to have parent volunteers to help with PE until we fill the position. If you are interested in volunteering for any PE classes, please reach out to Carly Costello at ccostello@petk12.org.

As we all know, the traffic around McKinley can be a lot at times and brings about concerns regarding the safety of our students and families. We are looking for volunteers to help support as:

• Crossing guard from 8:05-8:20 on the corner of Madison and Ellis
• Crossing guard from 8:05-8:20 on the corner of Madison and Payran

NEW DATE: PCS Family Fun Run - February 4th!

Our December 10th Family Fun Run was postponed due to inclement weather and has been rescheduled for Saturday, February 4th. For all who picked up packets, hang on to your materials! For those who did not pick up packets, we’ll offer another packet pick-up on Thursday, February 2nd from 11:00 AM - 1:00 PM at our District Office. We look forward to this incredible PCS community event with over 600 participants registered! If you would like to register and have not done so, please email Amy Fadeji (afadeji@petk12.org).

On February 13th and 14th, PCS staff will be hard at work diving deeper into our learning around restorative practices, equity, English Language Development, and Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports. These are non-student days. In addition, on February 20th, all students and staff will celebrate a three-day weekend in honor of Presidents’ Day.

Ahoy Mustang community! Planning is now underway for our much-anticipated annual fundraiser. This year’s theme is ALL ABOARD, Cruising’ for Mckinley! It’s always a fun, grownup-only party that brings together our community and raises critical funding for our students.

WE NEED YOUR HELP!
1. Mark your calendars now to Save the date. Saturday April 29th

2. Reach out to your community for donations! Cast your net wide and think BIG. Vacation rentals, sporting event tickets, wine, upscale restaurant gift certificates, spa getaways are just a items that bring in top dollar for the school.

3. Volunteer - We need all hands on deck! There’s something for all levels of time commitments. Whether it’s joining one of the planning committees or tearing down after the event, there’s something for everyone!

This is a friendly reminder that we open the PACS entrance gate at 8:10 am. Anytime your child arrives before that is unsupervised, your child will be outside campus until the gate opens.

McKinley & PACS will participate in the Trex plastic bag and film recycling challenge starting on December 6th. The school will be competing against other schools across the country to see if we can recycle the most plastic bags and plastic film. The winning school will receive a new Trex bench! From December 6th - April 15th (Earth Day), there will be bins at both entrances of the school for you to recycle your plastic bags and film.

Please know that this is only for plastic bags and plastic film items. Signage of what is accepted and not accepted will be noted on the collection bins.
