One Week Down!
Information
Back to School Night:
Is next Tuesday starting at 6:30, we will be opening the doors between 6:00-6:10 to allow parents to get to their child's 1st period class. Remember this is the night the parents follow their child's schedule for the night. The class periods are 10 minutes long with a passing period in between the classes. We hope to be finished by 8:10. Please remind your students this week about this event and also request that only their parents attend. Here is a link to the schedule.
PDAS:
If you are being appraised this year, don't forget to complete your TSR part 1.
Cultural Competency Training:
Don't forget we will have a mandatory Cultural Competency training after school on Thursday, September 17. We are buying pizza for the staff, please plan to be here until at least 5:00.
Pep Rally/Parade:
We are set to have our third annual Pep Rally/Parade on Wednesday, October 14 at 9:00. The band will also be traveling to the 8th grade football game that evening. Please email me if you would like to be a part of the planning committee. We need to start hammering out details!
Special Education:
All teachers should have received their goals and accommodations trackers last week. If you haven't received yours yet, please email Christi Langley.
Wednesday School:
We will start Wednesday School next Wednesday, September 9 after school in the Learning Lab.
Attendance:
Thanks to all of you who have been taking attendance regularly, please continue to do so. Also, I know we are getting into the swing of things, please try to dismiss your students on time.
Copy Volunteers:
We will have copy volunteers again this year. Please make sure you aren't sending confidential materials like tests or anything else you don't want someone to previews or keep ahead of time to the copy room. Take care of these copies yourself, or have them sent to the copy center.
PLCs:
If you have an idea for a Professional Learning Community, please let me know. We all have some great experiences and skills which would be great to share with each other. Also, if there is a need you would to have training on, please let me know as well.
Smore:
If you would like to learn more about Smore, or would like to use it for getting information out, please let me know. I have set up a school account for those of you who are interested to use.
