UPPER SCHOOL NEWS
“Training Scholars, Making Disciples, Graduating Leaders.”
September 13, 2019
Hello TPCS Families! High School News: Friday evening we had our Ribbon Cutting Ceremonies at the high school. It was a powerful night, bringing families, students and faculty together to celebrate God working through our school. On Wednesday, our first e-Learning Day was a success! Teachers were able to conference with several parents while students completed their at-home assignments. Looking ahead, Monday is the start of Homecoming Week! Student Council has planned a full week of spirit days and activities. We would love to have 100% student participation! Again, please help encourage your child to keep up with grades and homework. We have about four weeks until Fall Break and we don’t want to lose momentum. Academic Support reports will be created each Friday. Your student will be informed if they have to attend. Academic Support is for students whose semester grade is lower than a 2.0 or if they have an F in any class. Academic Support is held during flex Monday and Wednesday. Throughout the month of September, we have colleges coming during Flex to meet with students and answer questions.
Junior High News:
We really appreciated all of the parents that met the teachers for conferences and value our partnership with the TPCS families. If parents still need to meet with any of our teachers then please email the teachers and set up a time to meet.
Our junior high student council met and made some great plans for special dress up days to celebrate the HS homecoming. We will also have a special Tailgating Event in the Academy gym on Friday, September 20 (3:30-6:00pm). The students will play volleyball, basketball, etc. and be provided dinner prior to walking over to the HS homecoming football game at 6:00pm. Cost is $7. Remember, they get into the HS football game for free.
Our 8th Grade students will be travelling to the East Coast for the American Heritage trip on March 21-26. The initial deposit is due Saturday, September 21 (NEXT SATURDAY). Please look at the link below for all of the information about the trip. We want every 8th grade student to attend this trip. We will let parents know within the next two weeks when they can register, but please register your child for this trip right away.
