Thank you for all of your patience and help on the 2 hour delay days. I know it takes a little longer for the car rider line. I appreciate your flexibility to make sure all kids are in safely.

Snow Days and 2 hour Delays

We experienced our first snow day on Monday. This means we will be in school on Friday, March 25th. If we have any more snow days we will continue to make up days that week until we reach day 5. These days will not be considered e-learning days. E-learning days will begin on the 6th snow day. In the event we have a 2 hour delay we will not have PreK.

Have you enrolled in E-Alerts yet? Click here to receive announcements from BCSC about school closings and other important information.

Growth Mindset

We are continuing to work as a staff on helping students develop a Growth Mindset. I have included a link to an article we read as a staff. It has great insight about how to continue to foster a Growth Mindset at home.

Bulldog Boosters

Our next meeting is scheduled for January 25th at 5:30. We are beginning to make plans for the end of the year and the 2016-17 school year. Please plan to join us as we prepare exciting events for our kids at Rockcreek.

Construction Updates

Things are quickly progressing with our new addition. They will begin putting the roofing material on next week, lay new mulch to allow access back to the playground after trenching for the geothermal units, and continue building walls in the interior section of the addition. We will include new pictures for the interior next week!

Student Spotlight - 2nd Grade Activities

Big things are happening in 2nd grade and the 2/3 split classroom this past week!

2nd grade experimented with different scientific tools and played games of math Jeopardy. Students were engaged as they were able to complete and work with hands on activities!

Mrs. Hill's 2/3 split classroom prepared for surgery this week...contraction surgery! They used a scalpel (scissors) to cut the patient (words) and remove letters to make a contraction. Bandaids (apostrophes) were used to put the patient back together!

Please enjoy the pictures below!

Bulldog Basketball

Wow! We had a dramatic end to our basketball season this year! I have been impressed with all of the hard work each student has put in this year. We will honor these students at an awards banquet for players, cheerleaders and their families on January 27th. Please look for a flyer to come home on Tuesday.

We continue to strive to better communicate with our parents and community!

Some of our teachers use Remind and I think it would be a great added piece to communicate with our staff, parents, and community about safety and emergency information, events, etc. What is it and how do you join...please read below.

What is REMIND?

From www.remind.com - Over 35% of k–12 teachers in the US, and 1.5 million teachers globally, use Remind to connect instantly with students and parents. Over time, we've also seen countless administrators benefit from Remind for school-wide communication. Principals everywhere are forgetting their complex phone trees and are using Remind as a simple way to keep their colleagues in the loop and build community at their schools.

Remind is safe, simple and free PERSONAL PHONE NUMBERS ARE NOT SHARED Remind messages are not sent from personal cell phone numbers. Students and parents who sign up to receive messages from their teachers will never gain access to a teacher’s personal cell phone number, nor will the teacher have access to a student or parent’s cell phone number. Remind does not rent or sell any user data, ever. Remind is also COPPA compliant, and uses standard encryption methods, such as SSL, to protect user information. We take student data privacy seriously, and work hand-in-hand with our community to keep Remind safe and secure.
