Good attendance is important for many reasons. Your child receives the maximum benefit of education by being in school every day, and numerous studies show a strong link between academic performance and consistent attendance. Because attendance is so critical for the quality of your child’s education, Texas has a compulsory attendance law.

State law requires children to attend school each day that instruction is provided. The law applies to children ages 6–19. If you voluntarily enroll your child in prekindergarten or kindergarten before age 6, school attendance laws apply to your child, too.

If your child is absent, you will receive a call from the school. If you would like to call to let us know the reason for the absence, please call 979-221-2021.

Su hijo recibe el máximo beneficio de la educación al estar en la escuela todos los días, y numerosos estudios muestran un fuerte vínculo entre el rendimiento académico y la asistencia constante. I want to thank all of you for a beautiful start to the 2021-2022 school year. Our dedicated staff, teachers, and everyone who serves our community will do everything they can to make sure the learning at Hempstead Early Childhood Center meets our families' expectations.

Extra Information:

1. Would you please send a change of clothes and a bottle of water to school with your child?
2. Please make all transportation changes before 1:30
3. If you are picking up your child early, please call 979-221-2021 to reduce any school transportation issues.
4. Instructional time can not be interrupted if a parent calls. We will take a message and have the teacher call you back on their conference.
