Dear Parents and Caregivers,

The Secretary of Education has lifted the direction that schools must remain closed. It is therefore incumbent on schools to open as early as is feasible.

It is important that as many students as possible are at school for the first day to meet their teacher and settle in with their new classmates. For this reason, we felt that opening the school tomorrow at short notice would not be appropriate. Therefore, our school will now open on Friday 3rd February.

Please refer to the earlier newsletter (last week) for guidance on the first day of school.

Again, I apologise for the shifting messages on this matter. Hopefully this messy situation is something the whole system can learn from in the future.
