A note from our principal
Dear Families,
Welcome, October! October will be a busy month at CMUE. Picture retake day is the 4th. Count day is on the 6th. We will end our first marking period on October 20th. Parent-Teacher Conferences will be held on October 19, 20 and 21. One fourth of our year will be over. Please make sure you attend conferences and ask questions about how your child is doing. Before we know it......November will be here.

CMUE Fundraiser Orders
Certificate orders were sent home with students the week of September 20-24.
Fresh Donut Orders will be delivered to the UE on Wednesday, November 10 and must be picked up by an adult. Watch the newsletters for more information.

Final Forms
If you have not already done so, please update your student’s Final Forms as soon as possible. This ensures that we have the correct contact and emergency information for your child.
Students with Medicine at School
If your child will need to take medication at school, please ask the UE office for a medication form. Your child’s doctor must complete this form. Please note that students are not allowed to transport medication to or from school on the busses.

Items left in the Lost and Found will be donated to a local charity during, winter break, spring break and summer vacation.

Special Dates in October
10-1: National Homemade Cookies Day is on the first day of October, perfect for any kids who love baking and especially love cookies!
10-1: World Smile Day is on the first Friday of every October each year. It is a great excuse to give a big smile to your friends, your family, or even your teacher.
10-5: Plan something nice for your family and friends on National Do Something Nice Day, celebrated on 5 October.
10-15: For any little animal lovers out there, don't forget that 15 October is World Animal Day each year!
10-28: October is National Chocolate Day, so mark that one down in your calendar as a good excuse to dig into some yummy chocolate just before Halloween!
10-31: Halloween is of course on 31 October, for an exciting night of trick-or-treating, eating yummy snacks and dressing up as your favorite characters.
