Vision
At East Central Junior High we are committed to preparing students academically and socially to be self-sufficient, contributing members of the community with plans for a successful future.
A Message from our Students!!!!
Thank you for being WORLD CHANGERS!!!
I spent part of this past week randomly pulling students from the halls to film them answering the question: "what do you appreciate most about your teachers?". I hope you enjoy the video and I hope you realize how much students appreciate the many different things that you do to impact their lives. Thank you so much for being world changers and for making a positive impact on our school.
Speaking of positive impact, at the conclusion of our JA Day we had so many of our JA volunteers make positive comments about how much better our school and our school culture had improved since last year. It was great to hear someone from outside of our school come in and notice the positive difference that our work around defining our student culture has made. It is important that we continue to finish strong through the last day of school by following the expectations that we established at the beginning of the year.
We have a very busy couple of weeks coming up. Some important things happening this week include:
- Teacher Appreciation Week - we will continue our tradition of catering in Los Cabos which will take place on Thursday. Also, Chipotle is offering a BYGO to any educator that brings in their school ID on Tuesday.
- We begin our last testing sessions this week with the Alg. 1 EOI and the 7th grade math OCCT.
- Monday Faculty Meeting - we will meet as a faculty for roster verification training and will then break out into PODs.
- Final Soccer game this week vs. Clinton (going for back-to-back undefeated seasons for our boys).
- We have our Spring Band Concert Thursday evening at 7. (Jean's passes for anyone who shows up to support our students on this evening).
We have also finalized our dates for the end of year celebrations (bash, awards assemblies and promotion). This years promotion will be different than in years past because we are only going to allow students to walk who have met the district promotion requirements (passing 5 of 6 classes).
I look forward to another exciting week. It is crazy to think that we only have two weeks and two days to go. It is an honor to serve as your leader and to get to work with such an outstanding group of people. Enjoy the rest of your weekend and I will see you Monday.
