Glacier Ridge Elementary School 05.13.22
Dear Glacier Ridge Families,
Thank you to all our families for attending our annual open house. I know our students and staff have worked so hard to make this a successful event. We are so thrilled that we finally got to do it in person.
The kindergarten/1st-grade joint music performance at Crystal Lake South High School is next Tuesday. Doors open at 6 PM. Be aware that there are many events at the high school this time of year so parking may be difficult.
Coming up next Friday is our annual field day. Again, this is an event that we have not been able to do for three years! Mrs. Maule has been practicing the games with the students during PE and this will be a fun day for our students. This is a closed event for our students unless you are volunteering through the PTA. Also as a reminder that for our outdoor events, including trips to the park, etc., sunscreen and insect spray needs to be applied at home. Please ensure that your child has a water bottle for field day. We want to keep everyone well hydrated!
Enjoy the weekend,
Mr. Jacobsen and Mrs. Reinhardt

**CALLING ALL INTERESTED IN BEING FIELD DAY VOLUNTEERS**
We are excited to have Field Day back again at Glacier Ridge. If you have not heard about this event here is a little description:
Field Day is a fun filled day for all students, as a class, to enjoy a series of stations put together by Mrs. Maule and our PTA. The students are outside the majority of the day participating in fun obstacle courses, relays, and more. We even eat lunch outside! The goal of the day is to have fun and cheer each other on. We do not focus on competition or winning. At the end of our fun day awards are given to the class showing the most Polar Bear spirit followed by popsicles and a movie to be enjoyed in the classroom.
Please consider volunteering to help guide and ensure safety for our students. (Field Day is only open to adults who have signed up to volunteer AND successfully completed the District volunteer procedures.) Here is the volunteer sign up link:
