Cherokee Elementary School
Tribe Edition: May 2022
Principally Speaking
I can't believe that it is our last month of school. The year has flown by and we have had a great year to date. I am excited to report that many students have had an opportunity to go on field trips to include the Feed Your Future Event at The Alabama Music Hall of Fame, Little Mermaid at UNA with the Shoals Symphony, Tuscumbia Roundhouse/Museum, and several other fun field trips planned. We are thrilled to have our CES Tribe extend their learning beyond the classroom, and we thank you for your support of these efforts.
TEACHER APPRECIATION WEEK-MAY 3rd-MAY 6th
We are grateful for our Amazing CES Teachers and Staff, and we look forward to celebrating them on the Week of May 3rd! Help us show them love!
As this school year comes to an end, I must say that I'm very proud of our CES Tribe! Together with your help we have made positive strides during this school year (School improvements, the return of school clubs, and more!). Returning to in person learning from the virtual/remote setting was challenging, but we conquered the return and I am glad to have returned to a safe learning environment. Our Tribe has also encountered numerous obstacles during the school year, but together we prevailed. What a blessing it is to have supportive stakeholders and community members!! On behalf of the CES Tribe, we THANK YOU for all that you do and have done for our faculty, staff, and students. I am looking forward to 2022-2023 school. Thanks for your patience and understanding. If you questions or concerns, please contact me.
~Have a fun, relaxing, and safe Summer 2022!~

Counselor's Corner
Happy May, from the counseling office!
I want to thank all of you for getting your students to school for state testing. Everyone seemed to do an amazing job, and we are so thankful to have that completed.
As we come upon the end of the school year, I am reminded of all the trials and difficulties we have been through this school year. This may have been one of the most difficult school years we have ever had, but our students have overcome every difficulty and obstacle. It has truly been wonderful getting to return to some sense of normalcy. You should all be extremely proud of your students. They have all come a long way since we began the school year.
I hope you all enjoy our last month of school and all of the fun activities coming up! Information regarding registration for next school year will be coming out soon. It is vital that everyone completes this, in order to be placed in a class for next school year.
As always, if you have questions or concerns, please let me know!
Happy ALMOST summer!
