Deadline to Hire Permanent Classified Staff

The deadline to hire permanent classified employees that work less than 225 contract days is January 1, 2020. After this date, you should utilize substitute teachers until FY21 hiring begins. This process helps to ensure that late hired employees have regular earning potentials and are not subject to pro-rated salaries.

At-Risk Employees

Principals, please begin submitting names and documentation for At-Risk employees. Remember, documentation is an essential part of the At-Risk process. If it's not documented, then it didn't happen.

You should start documenting at the beginning of the year and continue through-out the year. At-Risk meetings for Non-Renewal decisions will take place in January and February. If an employee's performance improves, you may remove them from the At-Risk list at any time.

The deadline to submit At-Risk forms is January 31, 2020. (Form is attached below and will also be included in your re-election packets).

If you have questions about documentation or the At-Risk process, please contact:

Ed Aaron at / 478.765.8515 or

Mack Bullard at / 478.765.8733
