Welcome to our New Grade 8 Guidance Counselor!

Hello WMHS Students, Families, & Staff!

I am THRILLED to join the WMHS Guidance team and work closely with grades 8, 9, & 10!

Although I am new to the role, I have been a classroom teacher at Westport High School for 14 years. My work as an educator has always been inspired by the belief that schools have a responsibility to educate the whole child. Now, as a Guidance Counselor at WMHS, it will be my priority to improve student achievement; promote positive social development; and prepare all students to become successful adults.

To achieve these objectives, it is my hope that I can use my experience to build lasting relationships, while nurturing existing ones. I truly believe that relationships are the foundation upon which successful schools are built. Gratefully, I have been able to connect with many of you already this year. I look forward to connecting with many more students, families and staff in the weeks ahead.

I know WMHS! It is an inclusive and cooperative community where ALL students have the opportunity to reach their full potential and where every student matters! As I make this transition, please be assured that I will make every effort to support you and your children in any way I can. While I have a lot to learn, I want to know what I can do for you!

Best wishes for a bright and productive school year ahead!

Sincerely,

Christina Borges

Reminder of Morning Drop Off Policy

Please be reminded that the school building is open at 6:45 AM. We have noticed an increase of drop offs between 7:10 and 7:30 resulting in much more traffic. We encourage families who can drop off their students earlier to do so.

Additionally, the first warning bell will ring at 7:25. All doors will lock at 7:28 so anyone arriving after that time will have to enter through the front of the building. Homeroom starts at approximately 7:30.

Term 2 Progress Reports

The halfway mark for Term 2 is on Wednesday, December 15. Progress reports will be available on the portal by December 23.
