A Reading From The Gospel for Sunday, April 5, 2020
April 5, 2020 ~ A reading from the holy Gospel according to Matthew.
When they had come near Jerusalem, Jesus sent two disciples, saying to them, "Go into the village ahead of you, and immediately you will find a donkey tied, and a cold with her; untie them and bring them to me.
The disciples went and did as Jesus had directed them; they brought the donkey and the cold, and put their cloaks on them, and he sat on them.
A very large crowd spread their cloaks on the road, and others cut branches from the trees and spread them on the road.
The crowds that went ahead of him and that followed were shouting, "Hosanna to the Son of David! Blessed is the one who comes in the name of the Lord! Hosanna in the highest heaven!"
When he entered Jerusalem, the whole city was in turmoil, asking, "Who is this?"
The crowds were saying, "This is the prophet Jesus from Nazareth in Galilee."

Daily Prayers for Lent
- Loving God, I am just beginning to realize how much you love me. Your son, Jesus was humble and obedient. He fulfilled your will for him by becoming human and suffering with us. I ask you for the desire to become more humble so that my own life might also bear witness to you. I want to use the small sufferings I have in this world to give you glory. Please, Lord, guide my mind with your truth. Strengthen my life by the example of Jesus. Help me to be with Jesus in this week as he demonstrates again his total love for me. He died so that I would no longer be separated from you. Help me to feel how close you are and to live in union with you.
Monday, April 6, 2020
- God of love, My prayer is simple: Your son, Jesus, suffered and died for me. I know only that I cannot have real strength unless I rely on you. I cannot feel protected from my many weaknesses until I turn to you for forgiveness and your unalterable love. Help me to share this strength, protection and love with others.
Tuesday, April 7, 2020
- God of such, unwavering love, how do I "celebrate" the passion and death of Jesus? I often want to look the other way and not watch, not stay with Jesus in his suffering. Give me the strength to see his love with honesty and compassion and to feel deeply your own forgiveness and mercy for me. Help me to understand how to "celebrate" this week. I want to be able to bring my weaknesses and imperfections with me as I journey with Jesus this week, so aware of his love.
Wednesday, April 8, 2020
- My savior, do you invite me to share in the glory of the resurrection? Please stay with me as I struggle to see how accepting the crosses of my life will free me from the power of the one who wants only to destroy my love and trust in you. Help me to be humble and accepting like your son, Jesus. I want to turn to you with the same trust he had in your love. Save me, Lord. Only you can save me.
Thursday, April 9, 2020
- Loving Provider, you gather me in this upper room with your son, to be fed by your love. At that supper, Jesus told us to "love one another" and I know that is the heart of his gift, his sacrifice for me. I ask that I might find the source of my own heart, the meaning for my own life, in that Eucharist. Guide me to the fullness of your love and life.
Friday, April 10, 2020
- My Lord, your son has suffered so much, she so much blood. I was born with so many faults and my nature is so full of weakness, and yet your son Jesus has died on the cross. For me. I know your grace has the power to cleanse me of my many sins and to make me more like your Son. Thank you for your goodness and love for me. I ask you, Father, to watch over me - always.

I Am Here For You!
Hi Parents,
How are you? This is Simone, the Family Wellness Worker at OLPH school. I have been thinking of you ALOT lately! Just a few weeks ago, my whole understanding of "it takes a village to raise a child" was in play. We had accessibility to a collective responsibility of caring for the children TOGETHER in our school and in our community. It was a beautiful thing.
As of today, the typical village is not looking the exact same. Teachers are working from a distance and your kids are limited to just seeing the same adults every day. Your village looks a little different but we want you to know we are still here. I am accessible via email, booked phone appointment and google hangout.
But this week, I turn my thoughts to you, the parents. From my perspective, the kids will be just fine, as long as the adults holding them are okay. So I ask again, how are you? It is okay to feel anxiety, sad, frustration, loss of control or overwhelm, you are certainly not alone. But from my perspective, you need to NAME IT to TAME IT. If you need help naming it, feel free to reach out to me to chat. I am available to you as well! I have attached a link below to a Google Form to help you with contacting me.
Please feel free to contact me if you need anything.
Warm wishes,
Simone Moniz BA, MC.

Grade 8 - Voyage Quebec Trip Dates
Dear Grade 8 Parents,
It is with a heavy heart that we officially confirm that the Grade 8 Quebec Trip is cancelled this year.
I know that it is devastating for our students and families who have worked hard all year to prepare and fundraise for this trip.
At this time, we are asking for your patience as we figure out how to manage this unprecedented situation regarding the fundraising money since the trip will not be happening.
We will communicate more once we know more details.
In the meantime, if you have any questions about your travel insurance, please contact Nacel Canada directly at info@nacelcanada.org.
Thank you and best regards,
