The Wolf Howl
Week of 2/21/16
How to Avoid a $5000.00 Fine
Now that the bond election has been called and placed on the May 7 ballot by the Board of Trustees last night, there are very strict guidelines on what a district employee can and can't do:
YOU CAN:
- Provide factual information
- Provide facts about voting times and locations
- Provide factual information about student growth, enrollment, and conditions of facilities using objective, factual words and phrases
- An employee can express any personal opinions about the bond election in non-work time and off campus using personal resources.
- You may use social media to express opinions about the bond after work hours at home.
YOU CANNOT:
- Use district funds or resources to advocate for or against the bond
- Use district time to advocate for or against the bond
- Use the district's communication system, including district owned Ipads, computers, phones, or emails to advocate for or against the bond.
- Allow a third-party (like a parent) to distribute promotional materials using district resources or at district facilities
Violating bond election laws can result in a fine up to $5000.00!
The Showcase is Here!
The CTMS Showcase is this Tuesday. I am excited about the event! I have been talking about it at my parent meetings so far, and parents are very receptive to the idea of visiting rooms and getting informational handouts! I think we are going to have a huge turnout.
Reminders:
Teachers, please be in your spots at 6:40 ready to greet. There is no need for you to attend the fifth grade parent meeting at 6:00 unless you are a fine arts teacher, counselor, or administrator.
Here is where everyone is:
Popp, Schroeder (Garrison), Dunn (Moose), Burkhart, Skrudrud, Hrenko, Jones, Massey, Najera, L. Davis, Lemmon, ASPIRE teachers - will be in their respective rooms.
Science team - Salsbury's room and Science lab
Math team - in the Lecture Hall
LA team and Jaime - Library
Booster club members with PE and athletics information - Black Gym
Social Studies team - tables along the end of F Hall by A Hall
After the fifth grade meeting the fine arts teachers will go back to their classrooms for parents to see the rooms. The counselors, Alex, Brendon, Lisa G. and I will be stationed at intersections to help parents find their way and to be greeters.
We will have PALS posted at the front door, C Hall door, SAC door, gym door, and B hall door with maps for each grade level of parents.
At 8:00 I will announce that it is time to go home. And all the happy parents and students will go home in a timely manner and so will we!
