Newsletter Week 6, Term 3 2021
St Joseph's Catholic School Morrinsville August 31st 2021
Principal's Message
We hope this message finds you well and safe in your bubbles. If your bubble is like mine, it is a constant mess filled with toys, washing and lots to clean! Our staff have been so impressed with your efforts and support with learning from home. We know it is not easy, as most of our staff have families in the house as well, so they too experience what you do. We thank you for everything you are doing!
Definitely for me, the highlight last week was the House Challenges. We have new challenges this week, beginning with a bake off. The photo to the right is Andre and Tobias cooking up a storm at home. We have lots of other photos to share as well, on our facebook page. It will keep you entertained!
We raised $404.00 for the Cancer Society to support the Cancer Society's work in the Waikato. We had an online link available. It is currently still open so if you would like to contribute, here it is https://www.daffodilday.org.nz/stjoesphscatholicschoolmorrinsville?fbclid=IwAR2ew2oaoZ3YBUIaHoIBvbYya3-cXL-J2JCzLdXRsyYuaLLty5BuJ8cOGOA
Tomorrow, we wake up to Alert Level 3. Stay safe, be kind, and where you can, stay at home!
God Bless you and your whānau.

Learning from Home
EPRO8 Challenge
The EPro8 Challenge - Lockdown Edition is a challenge you can do with your family at your own home - lockdown style.
So get your family together, come up with a creative team name, and get ready to engineer. There is no restriction on who can be part of your team - they just all need to be part of your bubble. So parents, siblings and even your cat can help.
The challenge has now been launched. Get your registration and we will reveal what the challenge is. You have until Sunday 5 September at 8:00pm to complete the challenge.

Winter Olympics Sports Camp Update... Keep Your Fingers Crossed
With the announcement of the change in Covid Alert Levels yesterday, the slim chance of attending Sports Camp in 2021 may have become a reality (although still rather slim at this stage). Due to the Auckland Schools being at higher alert levels for longer, there is a chance for us to attend camp in Week 10 of this term being 27 September - 1 October if we make it down to Alert Level 1 by then. Mrs Horan will be in touch with the parent helpers to see if these potential new dates work for them. Everyone else, sit tight and keep those fingers crossed. If you have any questions please email
Mrs Horan direct at kerryh@stjoes.school.nz
