Aggression/Competition
Definition
Aggressive behavior is when an animal is actually or potentially harming another animal. Animals will show aggression when a predator is near. Competitive behavior is when animals fight or have "competitions" to get valued resources or to see who is more dominant.
Monkeys
Monkeys will flip their lips at other monkeys to challenge them to prove they are more dominant. Male monkeys will kill baby monkeys to make room for the babies that they want to father.http://naryves.rutschle.ney/pj/asia/batucaves/monkeybaby.jpg
Cats
When felt threatened cats will stretch their backs up, puff their fur, and hiss.
Dogs
Growling is a sign of aggression in dogs, for example they will growl at a human if they are approaching them and they feel uncomfortable.
Bears
Usually Bears are shy creatures, but when felt threatened they will get very aggressive. For example if their cubs are wondering around and another bear approaches them the mother bear will chase them away or even fight them.
Lions
When in the wild you can't just go buy food from the store so animals such as the lion have to compete to get valued resources. For example if there was a lion hunting a dear and took it down another lion will come and try to steal the meal away.
