December 2017

Many thanks!!!

Thank you to all the parents who donated items for our Gingerbread decorating as well as our 12 Days of Christmas and our schools coins for Christmas drive!

The kids had a great time with our Gingerbread unit. Decorating the cookies was the highlight of course!

Welcome December!!! Mark your calendar for the upcoming events:

Dec. 20th = Not late start; Early Release @ 1:30

We were lucky to have a guest reader for Lorenzo's birthday. We are also so proud of Abbie who was awarded the Paws-itive Panther award for December!

Star of the Week:

Cole was our class star this week and next week will be Abbie's turn. There are many wonderful qualities about Cole and Abbie! One that stands out with both of these kiddos is how they are engaged in learning and participate in class.

As we use the Chromebooks at school I am noticing many could use a good cleaning! Many screens are sticky and keyboards are too.

Volunteer Opportunity...

Kindergarten will be taking two field trips this coming spring. We will need volunteers to chaperone. If you think you would like to help out, here is the process to get a background check & approved:

The Process:

1. Go to your school's web page and click on the "Parents" ribbon across the top.

2. Scroll down to where it says "volunteers" and click.

3. A 5-minute video will play. Then volunteers should press the "continue" button at the bottom of the video.

4. A short questionnaire will pull up to be filled out by each volunteer.

5. Once submitted, there is an option for printing the background check if needing screened. They can then fill this out and present it to your school's office with an ID. In the past, they took these to SLC individually.
