SJS Peek at the Week
Week of October 7th, 2019
Eighth week of school....
This past week we had our first Preschool Family Engagement Night where the theme was Learning By Playing Outside of the Classroom. Parents, students, and teachers enjoyed the evening together. Preschool and Kindergarten went to our local fire station to celebrate people in our community week and fire prevention week (see pics below).
Mid-trimester reports go home today. Please look in your child's backpack for their report. We are all so very proud of how much the students have learned already this year!! It is an absolute pleasure to walk our hallways to hear the teachers teaching and the students learning!! We are so blessed to have such a wonderful community of learners here at SJS!!
Girls VB and boys soccer continues....
PTO will meet Wednesday, October 9th, at 6:00. Come join this active community of volunteers who support our Catholic school mission and core values.
Please continue to use this weekly newsletter as our major way to communicate from school to home. This newsletters intended purpose is to help our families keep up-to-date on current school related events and important dates to mark in your calendars. Newsletters will be no longer be printed on paper. This newsletter is available in a digital form only, hoping to help reduce the quantity of paper we purchase. We will post weekly newsletters to class Dojo as well as Facebook for easy convenience and accessibility. Please continue to call me or the office if any questions or concerns arise. Thank you for entrusting your child/children to our care.
May God continue to bestow his blessings upon us all!

Interim Assessments Begin Next Week!
Dear SJS parents of 3rd-8th grade students,
Starting next week, October 7-18th, your child will be taking ACT® Aspire® Interim assessments for grades 3-8, in math and reading. The valuable data we gain from these assessments allows us to make evidence-based decisions when addressing your child’s strengths, areas for improvement, and growth potential. This can give you an early indication of his or her likely readiness for the future, providing time to address areas where improvement is needed.
Measuring academic growth is necessary to keep your child on track for college and career readiness. Our students rise to the challenge and we ask you to encourage your child to do their best, eat breakfast, and get plenty of sleep the night before.
Peace and joy,
Mrs. Kari Rybarczyk
Principal, St. Joseph School
