BOTON DE TRADUCCION AL FINAL
Stand 4 All Students
Sacramento politicians are again siding with labor unions and against charter public schools with the introduction of Assembly Bill 1316 (O'Donnell). The sweeping scope and scale of this bill fundamentally damages the operations of all California charter public schools.
AB 1316 will increase school fees for nonprofit charter public schools and cuts funding for programs that serve low-income, minority, and at-risk students. We can’t let that happen. After an incredibly challenging year for students and teachers, Sacramento politicians should stand with the 700,000 California students and families that nonprofit charter public schools serve— not their political donors.
To defeat this bill, CCSA has launched a comprehensive statewide Stand for All Students campaign to engage and inform legislators and families. We must let them know of the severe consequences that AB 1316 would have on students who rely on the flexibility and personalized programs that are the cornerstone of charter public schools.
The State Assembly could vote on AB 1316 as soon as May 24. To help us defeat this bill we need all charter leaders to take three actions, starting this week:
- Ask your school community and broader network to Stand for All Students and call their legislators.
- Amplify a unified message through this email and social media tool kit.
- Share information with CCSA about your school that will help us. advocate against AB 1316 with legislators by filling out this survey.
We have also developed this comprehensive online toolkit for you that includes everything you need to take action:
- Talking points about the bill for school leaders
- A one pager for families about the bill
- A PowerPoint deck to communicate with other charter stakeholders about the bill
- A sample Letter to the Editor to publicly voice your opposition to the bill with your local media outlet
- Resources about the bill, such as the opposition letters sent to the Assembly Education and Appropriations Committees, NCB fact sheets, NCB research, and more
As always, if you have any questions, please reach out to governmentaffairs@ccsa.org.

Senior Send Off GoFundMe
We're up to $1,917.00! Thank you so much to all of our donors! We still have a way to go. Please continue to share this link https://gofund.me/7929bd93 to help reach our fundraising goal in order to provide a meaningful and personal gift to each student in the Silver Oak Senior Class of 2021.
The Class of 2021 never envisioned their senior year to take place online. We have worked so hard to connect with them and continue to make our community feel whole. We want to do something for them that is tangible, thoughtful and something they can take with them to remember their teachers and faculty.
Please help us make this possible by considering donating as well sharing the following link:
