A Message from Principal Choquette 3/16/18
Good afternoon
I'd like to start out with thanking Stephanie Pouliot for organizing this year's science fair. It was a great event once again and I am so appreciative of the work that goes into it. I am also incredibly proud of our students. Their projects were amazing! Thank you to everyone who helped make the event a success.
I would like to also say how proud I am of the students who participated in the 'Walk for School Safety'. I was so impressed with their maturity. We had 40 students from grades K-5 walk because they wanted to show how important it was to them to keep their school and community safe. Before we walked, I told them that during our walk I wanted them to be as silent as possible and to reflect on ways that we can all help to keep our schools and community safe. I also invited them to share their reflections with me if they wanted to either by writing or coming in to talk. We have great students at BSS!
Finally, On Sunday, April 8th, the Autism Speaks U Club at UMass Amherst is hosting the 10th Annual 5k Run / 3k Walk in Kendrick Park. This family and pet friendly event will have a live band, rescue dogs from Second Chance Animal Shelter, free food, and a kids zone. Registration is $15 and will increase to $20 after March 25th. The first 500 participants are guaranteed a race t-shirt. Below is our race website and facebook event.

We have many students in our school and in our district who have autism. It would be great to get as many people as possible to participate in this wonderful event. Let's show our support!
I hope you all have a wonderful weekend.

Inclusion and Budget Update
Over the coming months, teachers will collaborate with each other to talk about their students and their needs to ensure a smooth transition for our kids as they enter into their new grade levels.
I will do my best to keep you up to date on drafts that we come up with for next year, and welcome your thoughts and ideas as we move forward together as a school community.
