What We Want in the Rain Forest
Cattle ranchers came to the rainforest starting in the early 1960's. The cattle used the resources by eating the grass. By eating the grass they stayed fit and didn't starve. They wanted to clear the forests so that their cattle would have enough grass, so that they didn't go hungry.
When the other defenders of the forest asked what they were doing, they had to defend themselves. They defended themselves by saying that their cattle would die with not having enough food to live. And if they didn't have cattle, they wouldn't make any money or be able to sell stuff.
