Virtual Learning Days: Students
Inman Middle School
Virtual Learning Updates
Updated (04/20/20)
The instructional day for students will now be 4 days a week, Monday through Thursday.
Over the past 4 weeks of virtual school, the district and schools have received feedback about balancing school work for both students and employees. The updated schedule is designed so that Fridays are less demanding for staff. On Fridays, no new assignments will be assigned or due. Families at home should use Fridays to:
Learn new skills with their families
Work on incomplete assignments
Make up allowable work
Actively work on a plan to improve their grade
Find fun activities to engage and to destress
Teachers have a two-hour block carved out on Fridays for priority students. Priority students are students who are currently failing. Teachers will identify a few priority students to work with. The students will be contacted by the teacher a few days in advance so the student can prepare their schedules accordingly.

Thanks for understanding the updates are to provide care not only to our students but to our teachers and staff who are working long days with families and other responsibilities.
Connection’s Attendance Incentive
Starting today, Inman is having a weekly Connection Class Attendance Drawing! Attending Connection classes are just as important as the core classes. Students who attend and engage in their Connection classes will be entered in a weekly drawing. There will be 6 winners drawn from each grade. Yes, you read that right 6 winners from each grade. That means you have a big chance of winning. The prizes are $10 Chick-fil-A gift cards and $10 Amazon gift cards.
Here’s how you can win:
Attend your Connection class Google Meet session.
Don’t be late
Stay the full session
Ask a question or respond to a question to show your engagement.
Teachers will submit the list of students who meet the criteria above
Names will be drawn randomly to select winners
For each Connections class that you attend, your name will be entered. That’s two (2) submissions each week
Winners can win again the following week, so keep attending Connection classes.
Names will be drawn on Friday and announced on the Monday announcements
Chick-fil-A cards will be mailed and Amazon cards will be emailed on Friday
What's expected of students?
The administrative staff, counselors, and coaches will still offer support via office hours. If students or parents have specific tech concerns, they can reach out to Mrs. Powe via email or the office number listed below. All forms of communication will be checked frequently each day.
