PETALUMA CITY SCHOOLS INNOVATIONS SHOWCASE
Come join us for the Innovations Showcase! This is an opportunity for all PCS students, from TK all the way to 12th grade, to display their work to the community and share what their interests and talents are. In previous years, student projects have included photography, coding, ink drawing, robotics, dance, music and so much more. The sky really is the limit at the Innovations Showcase!
The Innovations Showcase will be held on February 28th, from 5:30 - 7:30 p.m. in the Petaluma Community Center located at Lucchesi Park. The registration deadline is February 15th, 2019. VIP Guests will be attending to interview the students about their projects and presenting them with certificates. We hope to see you there!
Registration and more information can be found on the district website: https://www.petalumacityschools.org/innovations
YEARBOOK COVER CONTEST
Calling all artists. Student Leadership is currently running the annual MCCV Yearbook Cover Contest. See below for cover requirements. Due date: February 15th to your teachers or the office.
RAIN CATCHMENT INSTALLATION INFO NIGHT
The Ocean Guardian Project has an upcoming community event. On Thursday, February 21 from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. you are invited to an evening event in the Lodge at school. A representative from Daily Acts will give a presentation on the fundamentals of residential rain harvesting and some basics on stormwater management efforts (Think slow it, spread it, sink it; not pave it, pump it, pipe it!)
Hands-on Rain Barrel Installation at MCCV
Saturday, February 23 from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m
Help us install MCCV's rain catchment system, and model water efficiency for other schools to replicate!
Join Daily Acts and BlueBarrel Rainwater Catchment Systems to construct a water harvesting system with recycled food grade barrels from start to finish. You'll learn the principles and practices of rainwater harvesting and gain hands-on experience in outdoor plumbing assembly, ventilation and filtration practices, downspout tie-in and overflow.
Please bring a potluck dish to share as this day will include a community lunch. *This event will happen rain or shine!

CALLING ALL MCCV FAMILIES
Do you own a business in Petaluma or know someone who does? Do you, or someone you know, have a special talent like cooking, candle making or floral arrangements? Do you own a vacation home, or want to host a casino night? There are so many options out there and now’s the time to think outside the box!! This year’s Cherry Jubilee will take place, Saturday, March 9th at Hermann Sons Hall near downtown Petaluma. We have a spectacular party planned— delicious food, festive music, and old-timey circus merriment— and we need your help to secure great donations for our Silent Auction and Raffle. The Cherry Jubilee is the PTA’s biggest fundraiser of the year and we need all hands on deck to make it a success.
Please email Meg Huff at mccvjubilee@gmail.com if you have something to contribute, ideas, or want to help!
