Our interns will be wrapping up their time with us this week. To show our appreciation, we will have baskets to put notes, letters, or "teacher goodies" in. We will be working over the next few weeks on our Author Research project. We will share our information with the rest of the school on the afternoon of May 12th. On the morning of May 15th (Fitness Frenzy), please stop by your child's homeroom classroom to view the Author Projects!
Math, Science, and Social Studies
Math-We had a great week last week completing our decimal module. I was very pleased with our test scores! This week we are starting the measurement module. I have some very fun activities planned for this module.
Great math websites students can work on at home:
www.zearn.org (students know their login information and it's a class favorite)
www.frontrowed.com (Curtright: yq2jji and Foster: nacfwn)
www.sumdog.com (most students remember their logins from last year, but they can make their own account free of charge)
www.gregtangmath.com-No login or password needed.
Students will be able to access Zearn and Front Row throughout the summer with their current logins. This will be great practice to keep up math skills through summer break.
Science-We will complete working on the Down the Drain unit this week. Students will focus on water conservation and ways they can conserve water. We will also take time this week to research and watch videos on renewable and non-renewable resources.
Reading, Writing, Vocab and Word Study
Reading & Writing--We will be working on our Author Fair presentations. Students will wrap up their powerpoints and posterboards this week. ALL POSTERS ARE DUE WEDNESDAY!
