CLINIC CORNER
Flu season is here. This year’s flu is getting a lot of media attention.
Please keep your children home if they having any flu like symptoms.
SYMPTOMS include; high fever, stomach ache, vomiting, headache, tiredness, dry cough, sore throat, runny nose, muscle aches, and gastrointestinal issues. The flu is SPREAD usually person to person through coughing or sneezing, but can be spread by touching surfaces that are infected.
PREVENTION:
Get vaccinated
Avoid close contact with sick people
Stay home when you are sick: please keep your child home when the flu is suspected to prevent the spread within the classroom. If your student has a fever greater than 100 degrees and vomiting and or diarrhea keep them home. They can return to school 24 hours after the last vomit and or diarrhea episode and fever free with no fever reducing medication.
Cover your mouth and nose when coughing and sneezing using the crook of your arm instead of your hands.
Wash your hands, wash your hands, wash your hands!
Avoid touching your eyes, nose, or mouth.
Practice other good health habits: sleep, be active, manage stress, drink fluids, eat well.
Our custodial staff is doing a terrific job keeping the classrooms and bathrooms clean.
