1st Quarter Comes to an End
Yesterday, (Wednesday, 10/18) first quarter came to an end. We have been in session for nine weeks of school. We are celebrating all the hard work our students and teachers have put in this quarter with a bounce house celebration on Friday.
The end of October stays busy with Parent / Teacher Conferences, the fall Scholastic Book Fair, and our Halloween parade and parties.
There is a lot of information below to get us through the last two weeks. Please read through it so you don't miss anything fun and exciting.
As is always the case, please reach out to us if you have any questions or concerns. We are here to help and support our students and families.
Claire Heaton, Principal
Ryan Klein, Assistant Principal
ATTENTION: NO SCHOOL DATES
No school on Monday, October 30. This is a professional development day for Central Elementary staff members.
Red Ribbon Week
Red Ribbon Week is an ideal way for people and communities to unite and take a visible stand against drugs. Showing a personal commitment to a drug-free lifestyle through the symbol of the Red Ribbon, October 23 - 31st . The mission of the Red Ribbon Campaign is to present a unified and visible commitment towards the creation of a drug-free America.
At Central Elementary, we are going to focus on being drug free through our Monday Video Announcements, our PBIS lesson on Monday, and through our school counselor lessons all next week. The graphic below shows our dress days for Red Ribbon Week.

Halloween Parade and Parties
Tuesday, October 31
Time:
Parade outside in our drop off and pick up lane @ 12:30. Parties start @ 1:15 in classrooms
Details:
Students will parade in their costumes in our drop off and pick up line. Once students are done parading, they will head back to their classrooms for their class party. Parents will need to have their driver's license scanned and have a badge to be able to come into the building and attend parties. All parents will need to leave the building by 2:15 prior to dismissal.
Student Costumes:
We ask that students do not wear their costumes to school as they may be a distraction to themselves or others. Students should bring in an easy to change into costume to wear for the parade and parties.
Out of respect for our youngest students, we encourage your costume to refrain from:
- Scary masks/costumes
- Masks will only be worn during the parade. No masks will be worn inside of the building
- No toy or look-alike weapons (knives, swords, guns, nunchucks, etc.)
- No face paint
- No fake blood or gore
- Wigs are allowed but no colored hairspray
- No costumes that promote the use of illegal substances or activities or are derogatory, disrespectful, or depict violence
An email will be coming home next week with more details.
