Trunk or Treat Event - message from the HOLA PFC organizers
On Friday, October 26th, the Holbrook PFC Club hosted its first Trunk Or Treat and I think it's fair to say everyone had a wonderful time! The event was made possible by many of our parents and community members, and each of them deserves a huge THANK YOU!!
To the families & friends that decorated their trunks: Kisty Jimenez, Shannon Thomas, Marcella Bustamante, Sara Zoccoli, Leah Huffman, Laura Storey, Sarah Goodfellow, Anielko Arce deNovarez, Guadalupe Barajas, Sylvia Perez, Jessica Phelps, Jim Hall, Evelyn (Sepi's grandma), Adrianna Simone, and Rosa Neman. These families spent time decorating their cars/trucks/vans and purchased non-candy items to hand out to all our kids. We cannot have a trunk or treat without trunks, so to all you beautiful people, THANK YOU!
So much work went into the event from behind the scenes. For starters, Cory Reedy and Chelsea Archila spent A LOT of time decorating the photo booth, and thanks to their creativity, everyone had a blast taking pictures and trying out the photo props. Let's not forget Patrick Reedy and Garin Ewell because they built the stunning wooden backdrop for the photo booth! Last, but not least, Justin Repp spent all night taking pictures for everyone - he made it so fun for everyone to be in the spotlight. The photo booth turned out better than planned. Bravo!
May and Jason Sutula showed up armed with decorations (even HAY BALES!) to make the entrance to the MU look awesome - May handled the design beautifully, and Jason pitched in not just with decorations but anything else that needed to be done, like getting things down from high places, or putting decorations up where only he could reach!
Ana Guttierez came to help setup anything and everything, including the lovely cake walk table. Without her we would never have gotten everything setup in time!
Kristina Spink and her sister were volunteered to face paint and they were there ALL NIGHT LONG making beautiful artwork for our kids to proudly display on their faces. What a job, thanks ladies!
Jennifer Breckon and Mabel Ventriglia created the Spanish and Math themed BINGO table and the kids absolutely loved it. Everyone got a turn to win a special prize, and learn a little Spanish vocabulary and fractions! What fun. At the end of the night, these two ladies helped clean up the MU and kitchen. Saints, that's what they are!
Alexis Rogers created the Day of the Dead altar where students could learn about the holiday and admire all the decorations. Jeanette Green manned the table all night to answer questions - a great learning element for our evening.
Jennifer Sylvestre and Erin Tims manned the entrance table selling tickets for food and fun games. They helped setup, cleanup, organize, plan... they worked SO HARD and made sure everyone could have a great time. Jennifer's husband, Matt, strung A TON of twinkle lights on the playground so there was light outside on the blacktop. It looked amazing and allowed everyone to be outside playing and visiting all the incredible decorated trunks.
For organizing and planning - a huge thank you to the Spirit Team led by Adriel Ewell and Alexis Rogers. So many moving parts to manage, and they made it happen.
And for all the donations of water, juice, fruit, cakes, cupcakes, toys, signs, etc.... a special thank you to: LaTanya Johnson, Ana Guttierez, Meghan Fonseca, Liz Rentuma, Cecilia Candanosa, Heidi Harris, Rosa Neman, Tera Bazen, Alissa Ratliff, Aimee Todd, Kim Hoang, Jessica Riordan, Leticia Laurie, Sandra Diaz-Quintanilla, Decca Miller, Enid Mendoza, Kathie Alcorn, Guadalupe Barajas, Jennifer Breckon, and Jackie in the office (for the popcorn!).
To all those that donated behind the scenes... we thank you from the bottom of our PFC Club hearts. While we may have overlooked someone, know that every little thing is appreciated. All the effort is worth it in the end when our kids get to have fun with their friends.
