The Great Migration greatly affected the Harlem Renaissance. The African Americans traveled from the South to the North in hopes to find jobs and a better lifestyle. Because there was so many of them it was hard to find a place to live, so they all gathered in the same area that became known as Harlem. During this time at Harlem, many new singers and performers become know. Jazz music became a big part of society.
