Bus Behavior
I am asking for parents to help us by speaking with your children about how to be a safe bus rider. I have received many reports from bus drivers and students about behavior on the bus. Students are jumping over seats, screaming, and using inappropriate language. I have had conversations with the students about the bus being an extension of school and our rules are the same on the bus.
Our teachers have continued to review our Roadrunner rules with the students. We ask that you please help reinforce these concepts at home as well. Below are the expectations of our bus riders:
Use friendly and kind words with other students and the bus driver.
Find your seat and sit down immediately.
Keep your body in your own spot in your seat. Remain sitting down and facing front.
Please keep arms and legs out of the aisle and inside the bus at all times.
Use an inside, quiet voice when speaking.
Listen to the bus driver and bus safeties.
Electronic devices are not to be used on the bus and at bus stops.
In order to help make the bus a safe environment for all students and the driver, some students on a bus, or an entire bus, may have assigned seating.

Trunk or Treat
Date: Friday, October 25th (raindate: Friday, November 1st)
Time: 6:30 - 8:00 PM
Come join other Rolling Hills families for a night of games, fun and prizes. Children can safely trick or treat in a sectioned off area of host trunks. Please remember this is the not a "drop off" activity. Students are required to have an adult host. We will be asking for donations from students whose families are not participating as a trunk but plan on trick or treating at the event. This is not required, but greatly appreciated. All treaters and trunks should pre-register here! Please register by October 20, 2019. Any questions, please contact Jen or Paul Ruffenach at pmjdr02@me.com
Home Access Center Demographic Information Update
As a reminder, at the start of every school year, the Council Rock School District requires parents/guardians to verify their demographic information through Home Access Center (HAC).
Only one parent/guardian should complete a demographic form for each child.
District/School Notifications, Emergency Contacts, Medication Authorization information etc. are directly dependent upon your completion of this form.
Chess Club
The fall session of the RHE Chess Club will begin on October 8th. Please see the link below for sign up information.
Cell Phones
Student cell phones are to be used for emergency purposes only. Cell phones are not to be used in school or on school busses. Cell phones must be turned off and kept in the students' backpacks. Please be advised that the school is not responsible for damaged, lost, or stolen items.
In today's world, there are many reasons that students carry cellular telephones, but we have to collectively remind students about their appropriate use. Please see the Student-Parent Handbook for more information.
Title 1 Applications for Free and Reduced Lunch
Families must re-apply every school year before October 1st for the Title I Applications for Free and Reduced Lunches. The application does not roll over for any families that received this service last year. Online application access can be found at: 2019-2020 Free and Reduced Application Packet Packet. Please contact Sam Smith if more information is needed.
Fire Safety Contest
The Fire Safety in the Home contest is open for any interested K-6 grade student. The deadline for the contest is Wednesday, October 16th. Last year, RHE had several prize winners and it would be great if that happened again.
