Adamson Children's House
Weekly newsletter - December 21 - Ms. Dana & Ms. Terry
Now THIS feels a bit more like December. Monday is the first day of Winter! To celebrate, we will talk about what different animals do in the winter and we will feed the birds on our way to the playground. We will read The First Day of Winter by Consie Powell and, still in heavy rotation, the book The Gingerbread Man retold by Jim Aylesworth. The children absolutely love the refrain "Run, run as fast as you can. You can''t catch me I'm the gingerbread man."
I must say that some of us found it a little hard to NOT eat the cinnamon and applesauce ornaments that we made in class last week. Tomorrow morning we will bake gingerbread cookies, that will smell just as great as the ornaments, and we will eat them for snack!
The children were captivated by the snow globes that we made in class. I hope that they all made it safely home. Thank you to the Giunta family for providing the glass jars and to the Oliva family for assisting with the ornaments!
I am pleased to announce that we will have three new students joining our classroom in January! They will be moving from Mrs. Brenner's Stepping Stones program to our Children's House. They took turns visiting our room last week and will do the same this week. I will introduce them in January when we return to school!
December 23rd will be our last day of school. See you on Monday, January 4th.
Enjoy the holidays!
Warmly,
Ms. Dana & Ms. Terry
