Trail Blazers
We wrapped up our nature theme this week! Some activities included putting the letters of our name in order to make a caterpillar, making butterfly sun catchers, sorting camping supplies and woodland animals, finding which camping object is different from a group of pictures, and reading an interactive caterpillar preposition book. We used a magnifying glass to observe our caterpillars growing bigger and bigger each day, and they are now all in their chrysalises!
With our friends from Rm 4 and Rm 15, we learned a new game called Spider Web where we sat in a circle, tossed a ball of yarn to one friend at a time, and practiced asking and answering social questions. We also played in our beach dramatic play area by pretending to swim and splash in our blue water ball pit, having an ice cream stand, and looking at different shells.
For outside structured time, Ms. Melissa led a hike, during which we found a wagon to pull each other in, and then we kicked a soccer ball around. During speech rotations this week, we identified types of weather (e.g., windy, rainy, sunny), as well as types of nature (e.g., trees, flowers, butterflies, etc.). We also did an art activity and made clouds with cotton balls, and decorated the picture with nature stickers (e.g., snails, butterflies, ladybugs, etc.). During P.E., we sang 5 Little Monkeys Jumping on the Bed while taking turns on the trampoline, did Mousercize aerobics, and passed the beanbag back and forth.
Have a wonderful weekend!!
