Kingdom Notes
Mrs. King's First Grade Class
In class......
Reading: For the past 2 weeks, students have been working in groups and getting used to moving through stations. Next week we begin our official reading work. Watch for books to start coming home!
Math: I am a believer in a small group approach to math instruction. It allows me to see more closely how students approach problem solving and to assess as we go along. I use a lot of math games to practice skills. We are continuing to work on specific skills: number sense, numeral identification and rote counting by 1s, 5s and 10s.
Science: We are completing a unit on Living v. Non-living. Students have learned that living things need food, water, air and a place to live where they can get what they need. Living things will also grow and change.
