Kroger Community Rewards
Did you know that you can earn money for Pierce while shopping at Kroger? Each year, our PTA earns around $500 from Panther supporters who have linked their Kroger card to our school.
To participate:
- Create a digital account at www.krogercommunityrewards.com (you must have a digital account to participate)
- Link your Kroger Plus card number to your digital account
- If you use your phone number at the register, call 877-576-7587 to get your card number
- Sign into your digital account
- Search for Pierce Elementary (NPO #92727) â be sure you select the right âPierce Schoolâ as there are 2 listed
- If you see Pierce listed on the right side of your information page, you have enrolled correctly!
- Kroger cards must be re-enrolled every spring -- even if you were enrolled last year, you must sign up again annually.
Learn more by visiting the Treasurerâs Corner page under PTA on MTK (click here). Thank you for supporting Pierce!
PTA Open Positions - We're Hiring đ
For next school year, we have many positions currently filled by 5th grade parents who will be âgraduatingâ from Pierce. Reaching out now allows time to shadow these chairs during the remainder of this school year. With that, we will be looking to fill the following positions:
Secretary:
- Secretary sits on the PTA Exec Committee and is responsible for recording meeting minutes at monthly PTA meetings. The secretary also manages volunteers for PTA events & communication between the PTA & the Pierce community (PTA posts, PTA-related social media posts, etc).
Reflections Lead:
- Reflections is an AMAZING National PTA Competition open to ALL students. Our current Reflections Chair will be leaving our school this year after seven years as the chair. We need a new lead for this program or it cannot be offered. The job requires organization, but no art background plays a role. This job requires about 25 hours of work spread out over 5+ months with the bulk of the time taken in mid-November as entries are collected and submitted.
Legislative Liaison:
- This position helps connect with all sorts of advocacy and legislative groups, reaching up all the way to the U.S. Department of Education and Michigan Legislature to understand what is happening that would affect students locally in our district. And then, from there, the idea is to pull that information back down to the local level, raising awareness and bringing people in our community to action.
Also, for next year, we are looking for someone to join our amazing treasurer, Jessica Valukas, in a co-treasurer position. This person would support Jessica in her role with the possibility of moving into the position when Jessicaâs children age out of Pierce in a couple years.
Thank you to those who have reached out already on some of our open positions. If you are interested in learning more about any of these, please reach out to pierceelementarypta@gmail.com for more information. We appreciate your time and energy!
Accelerated Reader (AR)
Accelerated Reader (AR) is a PTA sponsored program to drive reading and reading comprehension for grades 2-5. For anyone who has achieved the âpurple starâ, please send in a picture no bigger than 4 x 6 to the office so we can hang it up on AR Celebration Board outside the Pierce Library!
Our next Harvest is Saturday, February 10!
Also, note that AR T-shirts are available for purchase on Membership Toolkit. Once you have received notice that your child has reached that level, you can go on to MTK to purchase that. As always, please reach out if you have any questions! For more information and contact info for questions, please visit
