The Nearly Cashless Book Fair!
March 11th-15th
Family Information for the Book Fair
Hello Families!
The Scholastic Book Fair is almost here! Please read the information about our fair below.
The Scholastic Book Fair returns to our school March 11th-15th to share the newest books and other exciting learning products with our young readers. Parents and teachers will find plenty of items to interest them too.
The fair is open each day Monday through Thursday from 9:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. On Friday the fair will be shut down at 1:00 p.m. for pack up.
Students will preview the book fair on Monday, 3/11, and come home with a wish list of a few things they would like to purchase. Parents are invited to come anytime during the week to browse and/or make purchases during open hours. If parents are unable to attend but would still like their child to purchase something, they may send in cash or sign-up for an eWallet account. See information on eWallet below. It is a safe, cashless way to shop the fair. If a parent is present, credit cards are also accepted as a form of payment. If you set up an account last year, you can and should reuse the same account. If you had any money left over that you did not spend last year, it should still be in your eWallet account.
Shopping days have been slightly altered this year. Last year on the first shopping day it was extremely busy and kids were spending too much time out of the classrooms waiting in extremely long lines. To alleviate this:
Tuesday, 3/12, will be a shopping day for kids in kindergarten through third grades only.
Wednesday, 3/13, will be a shopping day for kids in fourth through sixth grades only.
Thursday and Friday- All are welcome! Friday we close at 1:00.
It is very helpful to have a list of what the student is allowed to buy, especially in the primary grades.
Items may sell out. If you click on the link below to the online fair, you can order items there as well. They will be delivered to your home.
- TEACHER WISH LISTS: Instead of the traditional teacher wish lists that we have done in the past, teachers will be setting up their own eWallet accounts that anyone can add money to, and sharing the links with you. If you would like to donate to your child's classroom library, just add whatever amount you feel comfortable with to the teacher's eWallet when they send out the link. The teacher will then be able to purchase whatever books they want to at the fair for the classroom.
The book fair helps us promote reading while raising money for the library and special school projects. Admission is free! Please come!

Forms of Payment Accepted at the Fair
2. Cash- If you cannot create an eWallet, your child may bring in cash.
3. Credit Cards- This form of payment is for adults only.
The Nearly Cashless Book Fair/eWallet
1. A child can't lose their eWallet account. Over the years, many children have lost cash.
2. It makes the volunteers jobs much, much easier if they don't have to count change, and the checkout lines tend to run faster.
3. If you have money left over at the end of the fair, it will carry over to next year or you can order online from Scholastic whenever you want.
eWallet Sign-up Information
Give your child a safe, cashless way to shop the Book Fair. This digital payment option can be used at the in-school Book Fair or online at the Online Book Fair, where you'll discover an expanded selection of over 5,000 products. Plus, every purchase benefits our school!
How It Works
1. Create an account for each child
2. Add funds...
3. ...or invite family and friends to contribute
4. Shop the Book Fair
5. Spend unused funds online or fund an eWallet for your next Fair.
IMPORTANT INFORMATION: After the Fair, remaining eWallet funds are not returned to a credit card but instead, become a gift card balance that can be used online with Scholastic or to fund an eWallet for a future Book Fair. Be sure to sign in with the same email used to create the eWallet.
