Just a little note!
Here are 5 New Year's Resolutions for Teachers (adapted from The Printable Princess):
1. Look for & celebrate golden moments with your students
Be present & enjoy the company of the little people in your care.
2. Work smarter, not harder
Transfer more of the responsibility for learning to your students.
3. Silence your inner critic & savor your accomplishments
Give yourself some grace!
4. Choose balance
Put systems in place that allow you to leave work at work
5. Take risks & shake things up
Try a new approach and change up classroom routines
Instructional Strategies Playlists
Below is a video showing a teacher using fact or fib showdown in her class. I love the student's discussions that are taking place and the way the students are engaged in their learning. If you try one of these out in your classroom, please let me know so I can come see it in action! If you do, I just might bring you your favorite Sonic drink :).
I would love the chance to come meet with you and brainstorm ways to scaffold for your EL students (PK - 12th grade) in your classroom. Please email me at linsay.humphrey@lvisd.org and we can find a time!
Summit K12
We are excited to be starting the Summit K12 program in our district. The goal of this program is for students to build their listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills in English. Each of our emergent bilingual students should be logging on for a total of 30-45 minutes per week.
Below is a video to explain how the program works. Please reach out to me if you have any questions or if I can support you in any way. I am excited to see the growth in our students!
