Atholton Values
Dear Atholton Families,
As we begin a new year, our school will embark on a journey to define what it means to be a member of the Atholton community. This journey will involve all of our stakeholders – staff, students, and parents. Over the course of the next four months, we will seek to define which values are most important to us as a school community. It will begin with staff tomorrow at an extended faculty meeting. Students will engage in the discussion during a Raider Time and parents will be invited to a Pizza with the Principal to engage in the discussion. Moreover, we will engage in conversations on the acceptance and inclusiveness of our school community of ALL members. I am excited to begin this journey into our school’s introspection and working collaboratively to establish values that we all consider an integral part of being a member of the Atholton community. Please stay tuned for more information on this process.
Tomorrow evening is our Scheduling Night – an excellent opportunity for you learn about the various course offerings and options for students. Additionally, a representative from the Applications and Research Laboratory (ARL) will be on hand to answer any questions and provide an overview of the various academies available to students. As families begin to make course selections for next year, please join us at 6:30pm to hear from various departments regarding course offerings available at Atholton.
Hope to see you tomorrow night and I wish everyone a fantastic week!
Warmly,
Robert A. Motley
Principal

Support Our Student
What better way to kick off 2019 by coming together to support an AHS student?!?!?!
Jessie Zinderman (12th grade) is raising money for the Special Olympics of Maryland with plans to be a Super Plunger in just a couple of weeks. She has been a passionate volunteer for Special Olympics and has done the polar bear plunge during previous years but the step up to Super Plunger is huge! She will be plunging every hour for 24 hours straight. To be considered a Super Plunger you are asked to raise $10,000. People usually get Corporate sponsorships in order to reach that goal - but Jessie has been doing it all herself! She is just over 60% there. If she reaches her goal she will be the first teenager to do so on her own. How awesome!
If you are able to donate - great! No amount is too small - and every little bit is a step in the right direction.
If you aren't able to donate that's OK! If you can help her by sharing her link that would be awesome!
Let's help her reach her goal!
