President's Update
Thank you to everyone who attended the Adult Social on Saturday night! A special thank you to Allison Bardole, Erin Kell and Ellen Stabelfeldt for their hard work, time and creativity that went into this year's event. Allison, Erin and Ellen have chaired the Adult Social for the past three years. In that time, their efforts have made the Adult Social McKinley's largest fundraising event of the year. On behalf of the entire McKinley community, we thank you for three outstanding years of service!
It's never too soon to start planning for next year's Adult Social. If you are interested in Chairing or Co-chairing next year's event, please let me know. We would love to have you on board!
We have several exciting family events coming up soon. The Sock Hop Dance will take place Friday, March 23rd from 6-8:30 p.m., our Math Night Event is happening Tuesday, April 10th from 5-7:30 p.m. and a brand new event, Kids Trivia Night, will take place on Friday, May 11th. Be sure to mark your calendars!
Our next PTO meeting is this Thursday, March 8th at 6:30 p.m. in the McKinley Library. As always, everyone is invited to attend our PTO meetings. I hope to see you there!

Leukemia and Lymphoma Society Fundraiser Starts Today!
Book Drive Last Day Today!
The 2nd grade Brownie Troop is holding a book drive for Next Door Milwaukee. This is an organization that promotes reading and provides books to families and teachers throughout Milwaukee.
We are collecting new or gently used books for 0-5 year olds. The drive will run Monday, February 19- Monday, March 5. Books can be placed in the bin near the school office. Please consider donating!
The Adult Social Thank You
Thank you to everyone who attended the 7th Annual McKinley Adult Social Hawaiian Luau!! We hope you had a good time socializing, while raising money for McKinley. Again, thank you to all of the McKinley teachers and staff, families and local businesses, especially our sponsors Tosa Pediatrics and Brett’s Auto Repair, who donated to the event. This event would not be possible without all of you!! Also, thank you to Corey Double Boldt from Powers Realty Group for adding some fun at the event with prizes for the hula hoop and limbo contests!!
Sock Hop Dance March 23rd!
The Sock Hop is coming up March 23rd from 6 - 8:30 PM. Look for the Sock Hop flyer coming home in your child's Tuesday Folder soon. The event flyer includes a ticket order form as well as information on how you can help us decorate for the dance. We're also looking for volunteers to who would like to help out on the night of the dance. Click HERE for the volunteer sign up sheet.

How Do I Become a Member of the PTO?
You already are! If you are a parent, guardian or teacher at McKinley Elementary School, you are a member of the PTO.
Interested in becoming more involved? The PTO is always looking for help. Volunteer opportunities in areas of marketing, communication, social media coordination, event coordination, website design, merchandising and more! There are volunteer opportunities that fit everyone's schedule - during school hours, after school hours, work from home hours and one time event hours.
