GARRISONVILLE ELEMENTARY SCHOOL

December 5th, 2022

Message from the Principal

Hello Gator Families,

It is hard to believe that we only have 11 school days left in 2022! It was wonderful seeing so many Gator families over the last week at our PTO Holiday Festival and our 5th Grade DARE Graduation. Winter break is around the corner but we have a lot to do before then. Our teachers are working diligently to ensure that our Gators end the second quarter of the school year in a good place for instruction. Please do your best to have your Gator here at school each and every day on time. We do understand that illnesses are going around and appreciate you keeping your Gator home when they are sick.

With winter just around the quarter, please make sure you think about your family plans in the event of inclement weather. School closings, delayed opening, and early releases due to weather can cause stress for families. Having a plan for each of those scenarios ahead of time will definitely help! All closing information can be found here on the Stafford County Public Schools' webpage.

This will be our last Gator Gram until January. We hope you all have a wonderful two weeks of winter break, which starts on Wednesday, December 21st. The school and office are closed December 21st-January 4th. Students return to school on Thursday, January 5th. Our staff will be enjoying some much needed time with their families so they will not be checking emails. If you have an emergency, please feel free to email me as I will check my email at least a few times over the holiday break.

Thank you all for a great 1st half of the school year. We appreciate your support and Gator spirit! Enjoy the holidays and get ready for an even better 2nd semester in January!

Sincerely,

Alexis M. White, EdS

Principal

Thank you!

A HUGE thank you to Stafford County Fire and Rescue for visiting with our 1st Gators and KinderGators in October and November. Students learned about community helpers, fire safety, and the equipment used in various situations. KinderGators were even able to see a fire truck and the inside of an ambulance!

Book Fair

Thank you to everyone who participated in our recent Scholastic Book Fair. It was a huge success and a great time for all of our Gator students. Money raised will be going towards adding new library books as well as adding items to our Makerspace. Sharing the joy of books and reading is such a wonderful thing and so happy to be able to help our Gators find their love of reading!

Happy Reading!

Ms. Golles and Mrs. Guzman

DONATIONS APPRECIATED

If you're able, please send some boxes of tissues and/or packages of baby wipes in with your Gator for their classroom. Thank you

Lost & Found

Our lost and found is once again bursting! Families, please encourage your Gators to check our lost and found for any missing items, particularly coats/jackets/sweatshirts. Items will be donated on January 4th if they haven't been collected. Thank you!
