Math
Welcome to the AMAZING RACE!
For the next few weeks, we will be reviewing for the STAAR exam, focusing on specific TEKS weekly. This week we are reviewing place value and comparing fractions.
Every Friday we will be competing in the AMAZING RACE, where the students travel in teams around the school, work on complex problems, and solve clues to race to their next location based on the TEKS covered that week. GET PUMPED!
Thank you to the AMAZING volunteers for helping last week. Without you, this wouldn't be possible! We hope to see you this week!
Science & Social Studies
Why are white foxes white? Why do alligators have scales? Why are beaver tails big and fat? In science we are exploring how adaptations enable organisms to survive in their environments.
This final six weeks in Social Studies we will be identifying the impact of various issues and events on life in Texas such as urbanization, increased use of oil and gas, the Great Depression, the Dust Bowl, and World War II.
Reading & Writing
In Reading we are beginning our STAAR Reading review. Some teachers are doing Reading Carnival and others are taking on Reading STAAR Survivor!
In Writing we are continuing to work on editing, revising, and features of Expository and Narrative texts.
Just keep reading
Just keep reading
Just keep reading, reading, reading
What do we do? We read, read, read!
